FLOWER CANOPY

An organic structure spreads across the façade. It is reminiscent of a hanging plant. From a distance, diffuse dots catch the eye, which on closer inspection reveal themselves to be a cluster of countless blossoms. The wheel-shaped blossoms sit with their colourful triad on filigree branches that seem to branch out endlessly – even beyond the structural limits of the façade.

The rhythmic growth and intensity of the colours convey liveliness in the mural. The blossoms are meant to evoke joy, to trigger positive associations even in gloomy days and to inspire thoughts of spring, beauty and hope. At the same time, the motif thematises change and transience. Dotted branches stand for a state in the past that is fading but still leaves its traces.

The mural picks up on urbanistic references in that the plant growth tends in a south-easterly direction towards the interior of the building complex and continues its structure in thought. This strengthens both the spatial context and orientation. In addition, the mural forms a link between the building and the natural vegetation in the surrounding area.
